We are..
|
Wings of Hope is a community based non-profit organization, and is a division of United Hospital Center. All of the money we raise stays in our community.
Our organization was formed to assist the needs of local cancer patients, and their families, by promoting healing and maximizing the patients ability to overcome cancer. Because our group is 100% volunteer, all of the money raised goes to the cancer patients to help with medication and medical needs, gas cards, groceries, utilities, hotel rooms, ride assistance and various other needs. With the help of United Hospital Center and a growing number of dedicated volunteers, Wings of Hope currently helps cancer patients in 14 counties throughout North Central West Virginia. |
Our History |
In the fall of 2012, and after many years volunteering for and working with various Cancer organizations, a dedicated group of 5 individuals decided that they really wanted to put their time and fundraising efforts into making a difference in and around their own communities. Debbie & Kim Thompson, Mary Ann Cowger, Amanda Mazzei and Tiffany Pierce, put their heads and hearts together and created Wings of Hope.
Their dream was to be able to assist their families, neighbors, co-workers and friends struggling with this horrible disease by offering assistance with the needs of the patient and their family. Wings of Hope helps cancer patients at United Hospital Center with needs that are often not covered by insurance. |
